Hardware Readiness Framework (HRF)

Hardware Readiness Framework (HRF) defines what must be true before hardware decisions are made.

Most hardware failures do not originate on the factory floor. They are injected earlier, at the moment decisions are frozen: requirements, interfaces, tolerances, suppliers, and timelines.

HRF exists to make those decision points visible, inspectable, and comparable before money, contracts, or physical commitments are made.

HRF is not a methodology for optimizing designs. It is a framework for evaluating whether a system is ready to move forward at all.

The central question HRF asks is simple:

What assumptions are being locked in, and which of them are untested against physical reality?

By making readiness explicit, HRF reduces downstream failure, rework, and escalation without prescribing how hardware must be built.
